Drawn in photoshop, lineart by hand, colours in photoshop. Textures are my own. Cool kids source their own textures. For reals.

I forgot to fave this.. fix'd.

With both of this and SplatGriffon I love the gritty and dirtier feel, and using real pants fabric (denim or w/e) adds a ton of detail and heightens the quality of that portion of each picture.

You're stylings are as great as ever and I need to be hit by something for being so late in commenting. ^^;

A pity that all the detail in the arms and beak are lost under the intense black/brown. Also, if you cross your own arms, have a look where they sit against your chest, its lower than the nipples and far closer to the belly button. Would be cool to see the other wing too, for dynamic effect.

You're right. And there's the fact that one doesn't rest their hand there when you cross your arms. It sort of rests against the upper arm. Butohwell. I think I draw belly buttons too low, which makes it even more noticeable.

As for the darkness, see, I thought my monitor was particularly dark - because whenever I look at my work on other peoples comps im always like, "good god that's too bright!" So, eugh, I dunno really. I'm totally unsure about colours in the first place. He's only a dark teal because black is so hard to work with and I wanted to minimize use of blacks, but for the arms and beak there really is no other option. I went with a slightly red tint to avoid the horrible flat effect black can have, and to bring it out more, so it didn't get lost.

The beak is a hard smooth area usually, so some light shining might help define the shape, and you could probably use a lighter shade, more dark gray than black, with some red. Although a blue/purple tint may suit the beak more as the beak is hard and cold unlike warm flesh on arms.

These two together as a set are so pretty. I had 53 DA updates in my inbox and they were the only things to actually catch my eye.

YAY BIRDSONA.
I really like the texture you did on the jeans, as well as the wrinkles. That really stands out to me. Also, you draw feathers and beaks AMAZINGLY.
Hehe, belly feathers. :XD:
He's so sinister lookin'. :P Somethin' bout the expression. Maybe the red background too.
